18th May 2017 – where is the time going?
It’s really has been a busy few months and I can’t believe it’s already mid May.
In the past few weeks I’ve settled nicely into my stall and life at the Shrewsbury Market Hall. There’s always a lovely vibe and buzz to the place. Here are a couple of snaps to show how the space has changed since I’ve moved everything in….
The unit is working perfectly for me – I have my ‘shop’ area set up for people to browse my handcrafted items and then I have my workspace where I create new items and design graphics. It’s great that people are able to watch me at work and has enabled me to take on several commissions for items including a leather watch roll, a coin fold pocket and a leather cheque book cover.
This weekend the Market Hall is hosting a lifestyle festival as part of the Love Your Local Market campaign (https://www.loveyourlocalmarket.co) with the aim of highlighting all the unique cafes, bars, shops and produce that’s available within the market. Throughout the day I’m going to be demonstrating how I create glass planters from cutting the glass to soldering it together. Here’s the poster I designed for the event:
And a little article in the local paper:
